About the University
The AKS University, Satna is dedicated to perform in a unique manner to achieve academic excellence in a creative way by using innovative ideas to produce perfect human resources and to act as center for ‘Amicable Knowledge Solution’. The University was established by Government of Madhya Pradesh by an Act No.44 of 2011 of Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha and is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC), a statutory body of the Government of India under 2(f) of UGC Act. The University also has approval from ICAR, NCTE, PCI, and DGMS. AKS University, is primed to fulfill its mission of developing & arming human resources with modern applied knowledge & competencies, harnessing knowledge for addressing multifarious local, regional & national challenges including creating skilled manpower to support the leapfrogging economic growth of India, enhancing engineering competitiveness through technology-development & technology-induction, enhancing agricultural productivity through Biotechnology & other innovations, environmental conservation through innovative technology & approaches.
Research and Development in the University
The University had maintained a large faculty base with varied rich experience. It has a perfect balance of experience faculty members of Industry and Institutions. Over 9500 students (as on are not only imparted a well-structured syllabus but are exposed to Laboratory environment in line with the requirements. Both students and faculty members are regularly sent/deputed to industries, and other teaching & research institutions to enhance their exposure to developments made.
University’s Directorate of Research is playing major role in establishment of research activities in the various field. Hundreds of research scholar are pursuing their PhD research work in various disciplines. University has established sophisticated research labs in biotechnology, pharmacy, chemistry, cement technology, mining engineering, computer science, agriculture sciences, food technology areas with emphasis on product-oriented research and development. University faculty and research students are not only publishing high impact research work in reputed national and international journals, they are also involved in developing certain technology and products that are addressing to any important problem as well. In order to utilize the knowledge base and expertise of the faculty members, the AKS University management has approved a well-structured R&D program including undertaking scientific/industrial consultancy. As a part of this initiative, till date, the University has made considerable in-roads into scientific and industrial consultancy programs. Details are stated at Annexure below.
The scope of research activities covers the different areas of engineering, basic and applied sciences and management leading to integrated engineering solutions for industrial problems. In a short span of time, it has completed projects for many CPSUs, and Private Sector Companies. AKS University has continued to build the research programmes, adopting a distinctive interdisciplinary approach to meet short-term and long-term challenges faced by the industry/mines and other organizations. The research activities are focused in integration of in-house talent in a phased manner.
